Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid is a polysaccharide that occurs naturally in every tissue of the body, with the highest concentrations occurring in the skin. Providing protection to cell structures, Hyaluronic Acid is the natural gel between skin cells that serves as a water reservoir for the cells. As we age, skin loses hyaluronic acid and the ability to hold sufficient water in this reservoir. Feeding new hyaluronic acid to skin may help hydrate skin’s intercellular reservoir, raising skin’s moisture level, and smoothing down age lines.

Choosing Sunscreen Products

One of the most important ways to protect the skin from premature aging is to use sunscreens. When it comes to choosing a sunscreen we suggest using the following guidelines:

Select the sunscreen type you need (sensitive skin, sport block, oil-free, lotion, aerosol spray, etc.).
Limit selection to products with an SPF of at least 30 that is also labeled ‘broad-spectrum’.
Choose a sunscreen product with either:
both of the two mineral sunscreens (Zinc Oxide and Titanium Oxide),
or three or more of the chemical sunscreens listed in the chart below where one of the sunscreens is Avobenzone in the maximum amount allowed, 3%.

Anti-Aging Skin Care and Sunscreens

We are often asked if we offer our skin care with sunscreens. We don’t, however the idea of formulating Niora products with sunscreens is an issue we have dedicated lot of energy to. After all, good sun protection is one of the most significant ways you can inhibit premature aging and preserve the skin’s health. The problem is that there are significant trade-off’s in formulating sunscreens into anti-aging skin care, especially anti-aging skin care as effective and as good as Niora.
